Impact Evaluation of Nuclear Power Plant Closure

Working with environmental consultancy BMT Cordah, we undertook an impact assessment looking at the sustainable changes the programme has achieved. Through initial research we first developed a results based performance framework, then undertook three in-country case studies using three key inquiry processes:

  • Qualitative social assessment of impact using the Most Significant Change (MSC) technique 
  • Structured stakeholder perception surveys, using an on-line questionnaire focusing on the value added, efficiency and effectiveness of the projects undertaken 
  • Collection, analysis and synthesis of secondary quantitative economic data based on identified impact areas within the evaluation framework
